Welcome to this website dedicated to the ever lasting memory of a "Very Special School", Western Park School. You may ask “What’s so special about this school?” well this school was very unique, a mini community where parents and teaching staff worked together to provide the very best education, for all the children who attended this wonderful school. No day was ever the same neither was each pupil's timetable.

On 15th July 2005 Western Park Open Air School closed its doors for the very last time, the end of an era for this unique community. This website is intended to provide a means for Ex-pupils and their families, and Ex-staff past and present to keep in contact. And to provide a historical reference, to a place with so much history and happy memories.

THE END OF AN ERA WAS CONFIRMED IN OCTOBER 2008 WHEN LEICESTER CITY COUNCIL PUT OUR FORMER SCHOOL UP FOR SALE BY INFORMAL TENDER, EVEN THOUGH IT IS SAD TO SEE THAT FOR SOME OF US OUR SECOND HOME WILL BE NO MORE. WE ALL KNOW THAT THINGS HAVE TO CHANGE AND THE PAST IS THE PAST THIS SITE WILL BE HERE FOREVER KEEPING US FRIENDS FOREVER.
